This July we had the pleasure of holding our second Women’s Job Summit in Hawkesbury, funded by the Workforce Australia Local Jobs Program and in partnership with AMES Australia.

Local businesswomen connecting and learning from each other is the concept at the heart of our ‘Local. Link. Learn.’ lunches. In partnership with Hawkesbury City Council, we brought together a fantastic group of passionate businesswomen to share, learn and network.

This week we ran two Careers Connect Bootcamps in the Hawkesbury region.

With funding from Workforce Australia Local Jobs and in partnership with AMES Australia, these bootcamps have launched a platform for women seeking to advance their professional journeys.

After the success of the Women's Job Summit last year we are back again, this time in Hawkesbury!

This past school holidays we held our first Future is Bright STEM & Trades Bootcamp in partnership with Endeavour Energy (NSW)!

Last week we held the first of our ‘Local. Link. Learn.’ Networking Lunch Series at the Mercure Hotel Liverpool with an amazing group of determined, passionate business women in partnership with Liverpool City Council.

Our 2023 Careers Connect Program was a success, with a range of women from Western Sydney joining us for the program. These women had taken a career break to look after their families, and now they were seeking to return to work. Our mission was to take them on a journey of self-development and job readiness to help them find their dream job.

For International Women's Day, Western Sydney Women held the inaugural Future of Western Sydney Summit at CommBank Stadium to highlight the voices of women in the area. The event included keynote speakers, panellists, and attendees committed to creating meaningful change for women in Western Sydney.

Women from Sydney’s west have gathered at Parramatta’s CommBank Stadium for an International Women’s Day summit, discussing postcode prejudice, carer responsibilities, higher education access and other key issues.

Yesterday, we launched our 2023 Careers Connect Program at PHIVE Parramatta.

Joining us were our program participants, a diverse range of women from Western Sydney who are seeking to return to work after having a career break to look after their families.

Western Sydney Women Founder & CEO, Amanda Rose, spoke on Mornings with Sarah MacDonald on ABC Radio Sydney about what women in western Sydney think about politics ahead of the upcoming state election.

Western Sydney Women founder Amanda Rose says STEM (science, technology, engineering, and mathematics), aviation, trades and construction are lucrative sectors women are “eminently qualified” for.

“It doesn’t mean you have to be on the tools – although you could be, if that’s what you’re interested in,” she says.

We are very excited to announce our partnership with Endeavour Energy which includes delivering STEM and Trades Bootcamp Days for high school students.

Jobs and finances were at the top of the list for the majority of the 1000+ female residents of western Sydney who participated in the survey with 34% of respondents prioritising pay equity and 24% prioritising cost-of-living as their biggest concerns. 42% of women said workplaces can help them achieve their career goals by increasing their salary while 21% said they would most appreciate more flexible work arrangements.

The Future of Women in Western Sydney summit is advocacy group Western Sydney Women’s latest initiative to support women by engaging government, business, and community leaders to give women a seat at the table where decisions are made.

Congratulations to the winners of the 2022 Western Sydney Women Awards! What an amazing night last night at Bankstown Sports celebrating the achievements of so many incredible women in Western Sydney. The atmosphere of encouragement and joy in the room was tangible.

We celebrated the graduation of The Future is Bright Trades Program 2022 at Endeavour Energy. In our Trades program, we have 12 amazing high school girls who participated from different schools.

Western Sydney Women were very honoured to partner with Defence Australia for The Maritime RobotX Challenge 2022. This is another huge opportunity for students in Western Sydney to have access to all the exciting pathways that a STEM career can provide.
