Celebrating a Western Sydney Changemaker: Honouring Dai Le MP

WSW Founder, Amanda Rose, and Dai Le MP

The Western Sydney Women Awards celebrate women across all stages of life, business and career throughout the Greater Western Sydney region, recognising their achievements, leadership and impact.

This year’s awards held special significance as we marked 10 years of Western Sydney Women, a decade of empowering, connecting and championing women across the region.

To honour this milestone, we introduced a new award, the Western Sydney Changemaker, recognising someone who has been paving the way from the very beginning and continues to inspire others through their actions, advocacy, and leadership.

There was no one more deserving of this inaugural honour than Dai Le MP.

Dai has long embodied what it means to be a Western Sydney Woman — leading with courage, resilience, and a deep commitment to her community. From her early days in journalism, where she gave voice to diverse stories, to stepping forward as an Independent Federal Member for Fowler, Dai has consistently demonstrated what’s possible when women lead with purpose and authenticity.

It was an honour for our Founder, Amanda Rose, to present the 2025 Western Sydney Changemaker Award to Dai at UNSW’s Her Story: Western Sydney Women Leading Change event. The moment was a powerful reflection of how far women in Western Sydney have come, and how much further we can go when we lift each other up.

As we look to the next decade of Western Sydney Women, Dai’s story reminds us that true change happens when women lead unapologetically and stand tall in their purpose.
