Celebrating our Careers Connect Graduates

Our 2023 Careers Connect Program was a success, with a range of women from Western Sydney joining us for the program.

These women had taken a career break to look after their families, and now they were seeking to return to work. Our mission was to take them on a journey of self-development and job readiness to help them find their dream job.

In-Person Sessions

We were lucky to have Michelle Walker Katz from Katz Recruitment join us again in our 2023 Careers Connect Program. Michelle facilitated two sessions - the first one was on Resume and Cover Letter Writing, and the second one was on Mastering a Job Interview. She provided excellent tips and tricks to make job applications and interviews successful.

Antoinette Stonham from All About Style Personal Stylist facilitated a Styling for Business workshop for our participants. The participants learned about different body shapes, and skin tones, and how to choose the right garment's cut and colour that suits them best. This helped elevate their self-confidence at workplaces and job interviews.

The participants were treated with a piece of jewellery and a Styling Guidance booklet from All About Style. In addition, Western Sydney Women provided each participant with a Portmans Gift Voucher to assist the ladies in renewing their wardrobes.

Online Sessions

We kicked off our online sessions with Employers Insights. We connected our female participants who were looking for jobs with employers who were aiming to hire more women within their businesses.

We had three guest speakers, Mel Sloane, Talent Acquisition Business Partner with Accor Group, Sally Davis, Senior Finance Manager at Lendlease, and Giovanna Romeo, Executive Manager, Organisation Capability at Western Sydney International Airport.

They shared wonderful insights and information about job opportunities for women in their organisations and the policies and procedures that are implemented to support women and encourage more of them to join their teams.

For our final two online sessions, Amanda Rose lent us her expertise and hosted a session on Upskilling Opportunies and the Importance of LinkedIn. We are grateful to all the experts who supported us in making this program a success.

We are excited to see what the future holds for these wonderful ladies who showed lots of commitment to attend our Careers Connect sessions!
